| CTS faculty members care deeply about academic excellence
and about helping to move the world toward greater justice
and mercy. They motivate students to develop sharp analytical
and effective ministerial skills. In addition, their openness
and earnest attention give students models of how to be in
right relationship with people. CTS faculty pursue a broad
range of scholarship interests. Their passions include postcolonial
Biblical interpretation, gay and lesbian studies,
Womanist theology, community-based pastoral care, worship
and ritual study, and ministry with the poor in the United
States, Latin America and Asia.
Some faculty members are well known for their in-depth work
in biblical studies, theology and Christian history; others excel in
the fields of psychology, pastoral care, and preaching. Because
many members of the faculty have academic expertise in multiple
fields and CTS is a strong proponent of interdisciplinary
learning, faculty regularly join together to team teach.
Whatever your academic or vocational goals may be, you can
expect to be encouraged and challenged by the CTS faculty.
