What are Lectionary Workshops?
Twice a year, in advance of Lent and Advent, clergy and other contemplative people of faith gather for a day of study, reflection and fellowship, examining the New Common Lectionary passages for the upcoming liturgical season with a professor from Chicago Theological Seminary.
This is a resource for pastors preparing to preach sermons on the texts, as well as laypeople looking for a day to grow in their knowledge of scriptures which are central to the liturgical lives of many congregations. It's a day full of stimulating lecture content and provocative conversation.
This year’s Advent Lectionary Workshop will be on Thursday, September 25 from 9:30 until 3:00 at First Congregational Church in De Kalb.
