| André LaCocque contributed significantly to contemporary hermeneutical approaches to the Hebrew Bible, the collection of texts that he calls the Primary Testament. Situating the texts in the history, theology, and religious practice of Jews, arguing for explicit post-holocaust interpretations, and employing methods from semiotics, LaCocque deepened and broadened the meaning and use of the bible for reformed Christians as well as the academy. In this volume, LaCocque's friends and colleagues pay tribute to his contribution to their own work, offering readers further explorations in biblical ethics, post-holocaust theology, and spirituality deeply rooted in the sweet, nourishing Word of God.
