CTS Publications

The CTS Register

The Register, a professional journal for ministers, has been published continuously since 1908. Currently, there are three issues per year.  Each issue takes up new perspectives on a variety of current issues in ministry and theology. Contributing authors include faculty and students, as well as alumni/ae and friends. Recent volumes have included: “Investigations in Ritual Studies,” “The U.S. at War,” and “Biblical Interpretation in Multiple Contexts.” Alumni/ae and friends make up our primary audience, but a number of theological libraries subscribe to the journal, making our common insights and research findings broadly available to the academy and to church leaders.

Exploration Press

Exploration Press is CTS’ small press imprint, a vital outlet for publishing works that extend the mission of CTS but might not otherwise find their way to print. Exploration publishes edited collections and monographs and has nearly fifty titles on the backlist. Recent titles include: Williams R. Myers, Closing the Assessment “Loop”: Nurturing Healthy, On-going Self-evaluation in Theological Schools (2006); Theodore W. Jennings, Jr., The Insurrection of the Crucified: The Gospel of Mark as Theological Manifesto (2003); and W. Dow Edgerton, ed., The Honeycomb of the Word: Interpreting the Primary Testament with André LaCocque (2001).
