I am excited that Dr. Hunt has accepted the invitation to become the president of Chicago Theological Seminary. Her scholarship and her commitment to theological education will continue the commitment to excellence that is so central to the CTS story and that helps make the school such a vital part of the UCC family.

We knew that we had a challenge finding someone truly worthy to succeed Susan Thistlethwaite. The Board chartered a large, representative search committee, which was assisted by a professional executive search firm. Thanks to many hours of research, calls and personal interviews, we are extremely pleased that our first choice, Dr. Alice Hunt, accepted our offer to become the next President of CTS.

It is a momentous occasion as CTS announces its new president Dr. Alice Hunt. CTS has a long history of outstanding leaders who have encouraged and sought to achieve an open dialogue on issues of faith, social justice and reconciliation, and global peace. Alice Hunt brings to CTS not only great gifts in administration and finance.
