You will find at Chicago Theological Seminary a thriving community of learners – as we work together for greater justice and mercy and as we seek together to be in full relationship with the academy, with communities of faith, and with society. As you explore this site, I hope you get a sense of the generative spirit at Chicago Theological Seminary. If you are interested in pursuing a rigorous theological education in the context of progressive Christianity – I can think of no better place for that than Chicago Theological Seminary. Our outstanding faculty, our dedicated staff, and our passionate student body create a rich environment for the thinking, doing, and being of a life of faith. We are a school closely related with the United Church of Christ – a church with a radically inclusive mission. (We are also certified by the United Methodist Church for the education of United Methodist seminary students and in partnership with the Metropolitan Community Churches who recommend us for the education of their students.) Our ecumenical community brings together learners from a wide variety of locations, ages, sexual orientations, and faith traditions. Our community includes persons from 24 states and such places as Canada, Kenya, Korea, Ghana, Mexico, Myanmar, Japan, India, and the Philippines and from faith traditions such as AME, AME Zion, American Baptist, Assemblies of God, Baptist, Church of Christ-Scientist, Brethren, Church of God, ELCA, Episcopal, Mennonite, Methodist, Metropolitan Community Churches, National Baptist, Nazarene, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Society of Friends, Southern Baptist, United Church of Canada, United Church of Christ, United Methodist, Roman Catholic, Unitarian Universalist Association, and non-denominational.
