Continuing Education
As part of an emerging effort to better meet the needs of our constituency and expand access to our leading edge faculty, CTS will begin offering courses online in the spring of 2011. Students do not need to be enrolled in a degree program to take online courses—non-degree students should enroll as a Student At Large. Learn more about the courses being offered and how to register.
Lectionary Workshops:
Twice a year, in advance of Lent and Advent, clergy and other contemplative people of faith gather for a day of study, reflection and fellowship, examining the New Common Lectionary passages for the upcoming liturgical season with a professor from Chicago Theological Seminary.
This is a resource for pastors preparing to preach sermons on the texts, as well as laypeople looking for a day to grow in their knowledge of scriptures which are central to the liturgical lives of many congregations. It's a day full of stimulating lecture content and provocative conversation.

Ministerial Institute:
One-hundred fifty years ago, leaders of the Chicago Theological Seminary identified a need to provide on-going opportunities for CTS graduates to continue educating themselves and fellowshipping with each other and with faculty and staff. That tradition is alive and well today at CTS.
During the spring of each year CTS hosts an annual conference and opens its doors to alumni/ae of CTS as well as clergy and laypersons from all denominations and faith traditions and people from all walks of life. It is out of the CTS commitment to preparing clergy and lay leaders of ecclesial and social transformation that CTS has worked to continue strengthening the Ministerial Institute over the past few years. This year, the name of the Institute will be changed to the CTS Ministerial & Lay Leadership Institute in order to fit the current reality as well as the continued commitments of CTS to educating not only ordained clergy, but also anyone working to transform the world toward greater justice and mercy.
