Cutting Edge Faculty

CTS faculty members care deeply about academic excellence and help foster an environment where intellectual rigor is the norm. They motivate students to develop sharp analytical skills and effective approaches to leadership. The CTS faculty is made up of a diverse group of talented scholars who pursue a broad range of interests.  A few of their passions include post-colonial Biblical interpretation, Womanist theology, classical and contemporary worship, gender and sexuality; preaching and pastoral care; and many others.

Not only do faculty members excel in scholarship and teaching, they are also engaged in activities outside the seminary that contribute to the mission of CTS. Some are actively engaged in helping change society by taking on leadership and advisory roles in various religious institutions. Others lecture and speak in setting throughout the country and the world advancing causes that promote a more just and merciful society.

CTS has a reputation for having one of the most diverse faculties anywhere in the country. This includes ethnic/racial diversity but it also applies to ecumenical and religious diversity as well. Faculty members are also committed to the CTS the community in their engagement with students outside the classroom. In doing so, faculty give students models of how to be in right relationship with people and society.

Whatever your academic interests or vocational goals, you can expect to be encouraged and challenged by the CTS faculty.
