Lenten Lectionary Workshop Featuring Dr. Dow Edgerton

In the spirit of faithful study and worshipful work, Chicago Theological Seminary is pleased to host another Lectionary Workshop in preparation for the upcoming liturgical season of Lent. All are invited - ministers, church leaders, worship planning committee members, seminarians and persons interested in biblical study and theological conversations.

The title of this year's Lenten Workshop is "Preaching Scandalous Gospel." In this workshop we will center upon the Lukan gospel texts of the Revised Common Lectionary.  Through lecture, discussion and small group work we will consider the scandal of the gospel as it illuminates and is illuminated by our particular contexts and time.  We will pay particular attention to how to hone our homiletical focus in both individual sermons and over the course of the season of Lent and Easter Sunday.  Learn more about Dr. Dow Edgerton, Professor of Ministry.
