Housing

CTS does not maintain its own residence hall. Therefore, while many CTS students live in Hyde Park and the surrounding neighborhoods, our students hail from locations all over Chicago.  The seminary is committed to working closely with entering students to assist them in finding housing and to ease their transition to a new neighborhood.  Our housing coordinator is available through spring and summer every year to help entering students find housing.  To this end, the housing coordinator maintains information on those privately owned apartments and landlords that are well-reviewed by current students, which is available on request.

Students may also choose to reside in the University of Chicago’s Graduate Student Housing, with spaces ranging from furnished or unfurnished studios to 3-bedroom apartments appropriate for families.

Longer-distance commuters who travel into Chicago for 24 to 48 hours each week have several options available to them.  Commuter students may arrange overnight accommodations at the University of Chicago’s International House, which is just two blocks from CTS.  Disciples Divinity House and the Quaker House, both located within a couple blocks of CTS, also offer guest rooms:
