      • The Jewish Study Bible, Adele Berlin, Marc Zvi Brettler and Michael Fishbane, eds. (Oxford, 1999).  It uses the “new Jewish Publication Society” translation; if you have a Hebrew Bible that uses this translation, you do not need to acquire this study bible.
      • The Nobel Qur’an, translated by Abdelhaqq and Aisha Bewley (Bookwork, 1999).  It is one of the best translations.  On the other hand, a version with an index can also be helpful.  It is available from online Islamic bookstores for approximately ½ of the cost listed on Amazon.
