Degree Programs

Fall admission is available to prospective students interested in each Degree Program, to persons interested in taking one or two courses of particular interest as a Student at Large, and to those interested in pursuing a six course Certificate in Theological Studies.

Application Deadlines

The priority application deadline for application to the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs for Fall 2012 is February 1, 2012.

The priority application deadline for the Master of Arts (MA), Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Divinity/Master of Social Service Administration Dual Degree (MDiv/MSSA) and Master of Sacred Theology (STM) programs for Fall 2012 is February 15, 2012.

Master’s level applicants interested in being considered for a Merit Scholarship must submit a completed application by the priority deadline of February 15, 2012.

Persons interested in studying as a Student at Large and those seeking a Certificate in Theological Studies are encouraged to apply by February 15, 2012. Persons interested in studying as a Distance Scholar are must apply by August 1, 2012.

Applications Received after the Recommended Deadlines

While we encourage you to submit your application by the priority deadlines, we are happy to work with prospective students to accommodate applications received after these dates.  We strongly recommend that applicants for all degree programs apply no later than May 1, 2012.

Applications received after the recommended deadline of May 1, 2012 will be considered on a space-available basis until each program has reached capacity.

Financial Aid

Students matriculating in the fall are eligible to be considered for Merit Scholarships (master’s level only), Need-Based Grants, STM Tuition Fellowships, and Federal Student Loans.

AmeriCorps, City Year, Peace Corps & VISTA Application Fee Waiver

Persons serving as volunteers, team members, corp members, staff and alums of the AmeriCorps, City Year, Peace Corps, and VISTA service organizations are eligible for an application fee waiver when applying to CTS degree programs. Applicants must provide proof of affiliation in order to utilize the fee waiver option. Such proof of affiliation should be submitted at the time of application. Proof of affiliation may be accomplished by selecting a supervisor from the organization to serve as a reference, or providing official documentation from the organization affirming one’s relationship/service.

Fall 2011 Calendar

Fall 2011 classes began on September 6, 2011, preceded by orientation and registration events at the end of August.  There are many interesting courses offered that are sure to intrigue you.
