Hammond Library Circulation Policies

Registration

Every library user must fill out a colored registration card at the beginning of his/her first quarter.

  • ACTS students must present a validated ID card or ACTS card in order to register.
  • CTS students must be cleared by the Business Office before registering.

Checkout Procedures

Hammond Library has a self-checkout procedure where users check out regular, circulating books themselves. ALL OTHER MATERIALS, INCLUDING RESERVE BOOKS, MUST BE CHECKED OUT FOR YOU BY LIBRARY STAFF. Please follow these steps:

  • Sign your name on the circulation card found in the book.
  • Stamp the current date (reserved stamp) to the right of your signature.
  • Stamp the due date (quarter stamp) to the left of your signature and in the back of the book.
  • Place the circulation card in the box marked CARDS.

Reserve Materials

Reserve items are shelved behind the Circulation Desk and must be obtained and checked out for you by a library staff member. Reserve books may be checked out 30 minutes before closing and are due 30 minutes after opening. Overdue fines accrue at $1.00 per day.
