The Rev. Dr. Peter Paris
Dr. Paris is an ordained Baptist minister, past president of the Society for the Study of Black Religion and vice president of the Society for Values in Higher Education. He is the senior editor of the New York University series Religion, Race, and Ethnicity and serves on the edito- rial boards of several journals. He is a member of the board of trustees of New York Theological Seminary and the Baptist Union of the University of Chicago Divinity School. His book, The Social Teaching of the Black Churches, is required text for introductory courses in theological seminaries across the country.
