Event Details

“American Muslim” is a film about being Muslim in the Age of Trump. It follows five very diverse Muslim Americans in Brooklyn and Queens as they live, work, and contend with the Muslim Ban. The five characters were all once immigrants and are now U.S. citizens. The film’s narrative arc is from the beginning of the issuance of the Muslim ban to the Supreme Court’s ruling in June 2018. There is a political component, in tracking the events and the pushback, but it is, more so, very much an intimate glimpse into five distinct lives and neighborhoods that many people do not know.
