Event Details

Join CTS in celebrating the release of Dr. Christophe Ringer’s book, Necropolitics: The Religious Crisis of Mass Incarceration in America. Dr. Ringer will be joined by CTS PhD student, Terence Mayo.

In his recently published manuscript, Necropolitics: The Religious Crisis of Mass Incarceration in America, Dr. Christophe D. Ringer will discuss his compelling argument that “the persistence of mass incarceration is rooted in our social agreements that legitimate and rationalize its ongoing existence,” and “necropolitics creates a powerful circuitry of representations that legitimate the mythology of ‘black-on-black crime,’ the racialization of drugs and broken wind”.

This is a free event, but registration is required. Are you interested in hosting Professor Ringer for a Zoom book discussion with your congregation or organization? Contact us for more information!
