2018 Commencement Ceremony at CTS

The 2018 Commencement of Chicago Theological Seminary was held at Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago on Friday, May 18, 2018. Over 35 graduates and their friends, spouses, and extended family members gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2018 graduating class. Rev. Dr. Stephen G. Ray Jr. was the featured speaker. His address, A Place for Us: The Public Square as Vocation & Calling urged graduates to not let anyone dim their light.

Norman J. Williams, current CTS Board Chair was awarded an honorary degree, a Doctor of Letters for his service to CTS, the Board, theological education and the City of Chicago. He will serve in his role as chair until October, where he will transition to the role of Life Trustee.

Celestial Ministries and OneSoul Ministries returned again and brought the house down with renditions of Blessings Are Falling and Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around.

The two videos below showcase the full Commencement ceremony celebrating Leaders for the Next, as well as President Ray’s address to our 2018 graduates, A Place for Us: The Public Square as Vocation & Calling.
